Karen and Sayword took me to another new hiking area today. They also invited Donna who does a lot of hiking as well. This was the first hike of the season as the snow is now really, truly gone. They took us to a place called Hermit Cave which was actually inhabited by a man some years ago. I don't know all the lore around it. It was an easy hike, maybe an hour each way. But it afforded some nice views without too much effort. It was lovely and a good season opener.
We have abandoned the idea of the warehouse project. It is too daunting. We are still trying on ideas so it was a bit of a case of putting the cart before the horse. First we need to more clearly identify what we want to do next. We met early this morning with a new friend, Trish, to see the studio space she rents. Mark wants his own space so he can prepare for a 2-person art show this October. So all that is still in flux.
This evening I had an interview with Narayan. I wasn't really prepared with any specific questions so it was a rather free-wheeling 20 minutes. She commented on how well I look in general. And she always says something about what I'm wearing. Today she said, "first of all, you look adorable". She is so funny. I was wearing a jaunty new hat. We relate on this very mundane level which is very fun, then we go deeper. I told her briefly about quitting my job. Pretty soon she moved right in and said, "tell me about your heart". We talked about a women's retreat that she is offering in December at IMS in Barre, MA. I may be ready by then to try a 10-day silent retreat. Maybe. Let's see.
My niece Kelsey ran the Boston Marathon today and shaved 12 minutes off her time last year. Go girl!
I'll work Tuesday and Wednesday this week, then I'll be off again. This is good!
