A few weeks ago Team Tolstoy had an outing to Wellesley Collage to see a art show by El Anatsui at the Davis Museum, then we went to see Lynda Barry and Alison Bechdel give a talk. We all went to see Lynda Barry. I had never heard of Alison Bechdel but decided to check out some of her books. The best way to describe her is a lesbian graphic novelist. I have read very little of this genre (either lesbian or graphic novel) so it's been fun to dive into a whole new reading adventure. I finished this book and am now working on "Fun House" which is autobiographical. So that's what's on my reading nightstand these days. I've taken yet another break from reading War and Peace but will pick it up again soon.Speaking of War and Peace, I spent the day in the studio with my team as usual. We have almost finished 500 collages! Today's count was about 495 or so. We are waiting with baited breath to see if the Tolstoy Estate and Museum in Tula, Russia, decides to invite us. They have a meeting tomorrow so hopefully they will make an offer early next week.
Mark and I drove out West this afternoon. The days are long now so we were able to take a walk in the woods with Sasha. She has fully recovered from her surgery 2 weeks ago.
