Mark took these pictures out West a few weeks ago. Sasha is about as big as she is going to get and has trimmed down to 60 pounds. Although she doesn't look very trim in these shots! I love her so!Today was very busy, and very fun. I took Sasha to the dog park as usual, but we stayed for a long time. That made her very happy. My sister asked me to watch the 2 younger Angels this afternoon as she went with Shayna's class on a field trip to Plimouth Plantation. So I picked up Zoey first, and we went to select flowers for our window boxes. She thought that was very cool and had fun pushing the cart around and making recommendations for what will look good together. We talked a lot about flowers and trees; she seems to have a strong interest in gardening. We then picked up Luke as he has a full day at school, and went out for ice cream. They really love that! Then I took them for the first soccer class of the season. It was Zoey's first time and she was very pleased. My sister was an Olympic rower and on the America3 sailing team at one point; obviously an amazing athlete. Zoey's dad had a brief career as a professional football player. So those kids are genetically loaded to be good athletes.
I caught a late afternoon matinee called "My Perestroika" which is a documentary about several 40-something year old Russians and their reflections about coming of age during the soviet era and living through all the changes of the last few decades. I really enjoyed it and could follow along with some of the dialogue (Russian with English subtitles).
And to top it all off, I met Kande for dinner. She is in the process of moving to NJ but in the meantime is staying with her parents in upstate NY until they get the house settled. She's been gone a month or so; it was wonderful to catch up and eat some really good Mexican food. Enchiladas with mole -- one of the best things on the planet!
