William Forsyth at the ICA

Boston Institute of Contemporary art
On Sunday Glenn (left) and I (red pants) met up with our college friend Tom (between us) for a outing to the ICA. We saw a very cool exhibit by a Boston-based choreographer named William Forsyth. Many of the pieces were interactive, like this one. Viewers walked into the space and there were cameras that were both time-delayed and distorted. It was fun to interact and to watch other groups do the same. It made you want to move, to engage with the piece in quite crazy and playful ways. We were saying - let's install one of these at home!

I'm heavy into physical therapy. I saw Jocelyn for the third session yesterday. I go once a week. She added two new exercises that are addressing deep belly muscles and inner thighs. I religiously practice twice a day - no matter what. I'm still in a lot of pain and discomfort at times although I think I'm improving ever so slightly. It's worse in the morning but as I'm up and around things ease up. She says I can expect about 6 weeks - that I'm improving - and it is not a quick fix. At this point I can't imagine bike training again but never say never.

Glenn has an employee in his 50's, married a second time with a young son. The wife was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer a few years ago - got put in hospice on Friday - and died a few days later. These stories are chilling. A constant reminder to all of us. Wake up! Get down on your knees and appreciate the beauty of life as it's lived, right now.
