the dog ate it

I was drinking coffee in bed when the first text of the day came in. My friend Beverly from the dog park had to let me know that -- Alleluia -- the dog park was open, at long last. It's been closed the whole month of March to let the field "rest". So Sasha and I hightailed it down there, and were so happy to see our human and canine friends. Hugs all around for the humans, and big fun for the dogs who have been deprived of each others' company for weeks now. From there we walked along the Muddy River to the art supply store. I love stores that are dog-friendly. They even keep a stash of dog treats for their canine customers. So when I presented the receipt that Sasha chewed on this morning, the manager was quite understanding. I made a few purchases, then she gave me a wonderful little notebook as a gift. Why? I asked. She explained that they over-ordered and are giving them away. I said -- wow, your timing is perfect, as I wanted to get a new notebook for our new endeavor. She said, "nothing happens by accident, does it?". That whole interaction was so upbeat.

I had lunch and a walk with Laureen, a friend from Iyengar yoga who I haven't seen in a long time. It was nice to catch up.

Then my sister delivered the Angels mid-afternoon and I had them til 8:30pm. She had a talk to give and had asked me weeks ago if I'd take care of them. We had a blast. We went to the Arnold Arboretum, a fantastic park which is part of Harvard University. I took the younger 2 there yesterday and we went back to the same spot. We were in a rather secluded area, climbing on trees and getting we and muddy in the little stream that runs through it. Zoey, the 5 year old, said that I am super fun because I have a pierced nose and a fantastic dog. Hey, I'll take it! We dropped Shayna at her swim class and continued to play with the dog. Then back to my house for crepes which they love. At the end of the night we were all in a pile on the couch, exhausted and happy after a wonderful time together. The dog was totally crashed out on the floor. My sister said that even her ears were droopy. So that's how I spent my day.

We are getting more excited about our warehouse conversion project. We've been speaking with our financial adviser, lawyer, and close friends. To see if we are 1) crazy and 2) stupid. The consensus is that this is exciting and sounds great. I told an artist friend from out West about this and she says she is ready to move in. If you build it, they will come?!
