30 pounds and counting

Here is Sasha by the seashore. This was taken on Saturday when she was playing in the water but didn't go in all the way to swim. She was delighted and spent much of her time running in delirious circles. I brought her to the vet yesterday morning and she weighs 30 pounds. She will be 4 months old on October 2. She will at least double in size by age 9 months. She got her last shot but will return in 2 weeks for rabies shot. She is doing great. No barking when we leave, no barking at night, no accidents. She has down pat "sit", "come". Now we're working on "heel" and "down", ie lie down. She is fairly willful so can be a little frustrating to walk. She likes to do what she likes to do and doesn't think it's particularly fun to stay at my side with a loose leash. But she's making progress. "Stay" is yet to come. She definitely doesn't like that one. She is very social and likes to be together -- other than when she's supposed to be at "heel"! Mark is really starting to enjoy her. We are all relaxing together as we adjust to life together. And it certainly helps that she's not keeping us up at night with barking and endless diarrhea!

Yesterday a big envelope arrived in the mail -- my mammography films from Mass General Hospital. The Vixen asked that I obtain them so she can compare the old films with the ones I'll have taken in a few weeks. It makes me a little nervous to see that envelope on the table. 2 years ago there was a tiny "enhancement" in my left breast. Isn't that a crazy word? Enhancement is usually a good thing, right? Not when it's in your breast. It is an area with excessive blood flow that shouldn't be there. From time to time I have a weird sensation in that area which is at 9 o'clock. The Vixen told me in the past that if they discover another tumor in the right breast that they will probably leave it alone. Because it would be a very bad indication. So I watch the days tick down until the next mammography.
