Passage Vivienne

Enough with the Paris pictures, right? I was so captivated by it -- like so many before me, and so many yet to fall in love with it. What a special place. Here is Mark in the Passage Vivienne. There are a whole series of "passages" in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood. They were constructed in the 1800's and were the precursor to our modern day malls. At that time, there were no sewers, pavements or sheltered walkways, so these shopping arcades offered a place where shoppers could stroll from one boutique to another, protected from the elements and the filth of the streets.

Today was a regular day. I biked to work and the Angels came for a visit tonight. My sister allows me to spoil them -- within reason. I let them eat dessert first which is a big kick for them. We're still working our way through the 20 boxes of Girl Scout cookies that we bought from Shayna this spring.

Yesterday I was able to get the whole garden planted. It's only Monday, but already I'm eager to get back out West to see what's coming up. One of our neighbors runs an organic farm and he supplies lots of us with plants. He typically has over 100 varieties of heirloom tomatoes. Every spring he asks what I planted last year and I can't remember from year to year. Nor do I even remember what I bought from him yesterday!
