Sharon

Sharon and I met through yoga, many years ago. We think it was around 1995. She went to college with a woman in my yoga teacher training class. We have been trying to get together for many months, and it finally fell into place. She finished her dissertation a few weeks ago. So here we are! She lives in upstate New York, so we decided to meet half-way and are now in Burlington, Vermont for an overnight. For a few years we were inseparable. We met our now-husband around the same time. And have kept in close touch all these years in spite of living in different, distant parts of the country at times.

I drove about 4 hours to get here, through beautiful country. Burlington is on Lake Champlain. It is the home to the University of Vermont with a nice old downtown. One of the streets is for pedestrians only, and is full of independently owned restaurants and shops. It is lovely here.

Sharon brought her snow shoes -- I didn't think to bring mine. She keeps hers in her car as she lives in snow country. So we have been catching up and enjoying ourselves. Tomorrow I'll drive back to Boston -- or I may go to the other house as I have Monday off as well. I feel free -- and that's a wonderful feeling.
