Here is Karma's collage. We ran into each on the dirt road out West just before New Year's when I handed this to her out my car window. This week is a lot more reasonable at work. A do-able pace. Today Lucy and I met for lunch. It's kind of like the book "Tuesdays with Morrie" except it's "Tuesdays with Lucy". She brought me some black cardamom tea bags which I am eager to try, from an Indian market.
Speaking of Indian, I got a call last yesterday that I mailed my passport and visa application to the wrong office. I sent it to Washington, DC; I should have mailed it to New York. The website didn't say where to send it; I didn't know there were jurisdictions. But it's easily fixed -- I emailed them my credit card # and for $21, they will forward my application to the New York office. I am not terribly brilliant with these kinds of details. We leave on the 29th so there is plenty of time to get it processed.
Tonight we met up with Ashley and gave her a very-belated holiday gift. We asked what she wanted and she said Glam Princess, a perfume by Vera Wang. One of the many things I like about her is that if you ask her something, she will answer directly. That makes life so much easier! So now Mark is calling me Glam Princess. Hey, it fits, kind of?
I saw "A Single Man" tonight, a film starring Colin Firth. I recognize his face but don't think I've seen him in other films. I liked it a lot. It took place in LA in 1962 and is about a gay English professor whose lover of 16 years was suddenly killed in an accident. It was really well-acted and I lOVED the style of the era depicted.
