There Are Always Flowers for those who want to see them

"There are always flowers for those who want to see them". That is attributed to Henri Matisse, and was written above the door of a bakery that I visited with Lynn and Lulu this morning. It sounds rather Buddhist -- most situations really depend on how you see things. We met up rather early and walked about 5.5 miles together.

I had another luxurious day off of work. After the walk, I went and bought flowers for the window box. Last year it was professionally done by a group that does gardening for breast cancer patients. Last year it was stunning. This year I decided to put in all white flowers. It looks pretty good! I remember that White Flower Farms had an all-white garden when I visited many years ago and it's always been an intention, to have an all-white garden, although it's limited to the window box...

The photo is of Kelsey at mile 24 of the Boston Marathon. She ran as a non-registered participant, a "bandit". She was loping along, calm and smiling. At mile 24! She stopped by my house afterwards and said that she was a little sore walking up and down stairs. What a kid!

Tomorrow it's back to work. Narayan is teaching tomorrow night so that is something to really look forward to.
