Boston Marathon

Mark was up at 3:30 this morning in order to get downtown on time for his volunteer job. He was on the bike team, working as a spotter. This is his 3rd year, and he is just bubbling over with enthusiasm about this year's experience. He rode out from Boston to Hopkinton on the first bus with all the other bike riders. It was also an opportunity to buy another piece of gear -- he now has a helmet cam. He took about an hour of footage and was very happy to let me view it tonight.

I've been out west the last few days. I spent the first day happily in solitude, then Lucy joined me the second day. Jeff and Karma invited us to dinner Saturday night. We had a wonderful time. I have thought for a long time that they would really like each other -- next time it's all 6 of us including Mark and Lucy's husband.

Lucy and I spent our time doing yoga and meditation; took a long walk; spent time in the art studio; cooking; enjoying a cozy fire. It felt really good to get out of town. It felt like a psychological break from treatment. Which starts back up tomorrow...
