Spring is officially here at this morning I had coffee on the front porch for the first time this season. After finishing meditation and yoga, I take my first cup outside and read the Wall Street Journal. A neighbor stopped to chat and said that seeing me out there defines the first day of spring for him, too. We live in a very friendly neighborhood and I enjoy those kinds of casual interactions. The forsythia is in its full glory and the weeping cherry tree is hours away from bursting out, too. This morning at the hospital my treatment was delayed as they brought in a woman on a stretcher from the hospital next door. It's always sobering to see people in really rough shape being wheeled in for treatment. I try not to "go there" too much. It's scary to see. The whole waiting room gets quiet when that happens.
Maria, a friend of Mark's, sent me a gift. She sent the game of Ruckus to play with the angels. How thoughtful. Thank you Maria! They will love this game. They are at the age where they love to match colors and shapes in a fast-paced game. Aunties of the world rock!
This evening I booked tickets for Brazil. I'll take a long trip to see Irene and Carlos. I'm set to leave May 29, just in time to arrive for her birthday. This is the 3rd attempt to make this trip. This time I will be sure that my visa dates are correct and that I use the visa within 90 days of issue date.
