Muir Beach

Here is a photo that I took at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art yesterday. On the top floor there is a sculpture garden. I didn't note the artist's name but really like these a lot. They are about 6 feet tall and feel very figurative, as well as probably using reclaimed materials.

This morning Kelsey and I navigated the public bus and went to Haight Ashbury. We tracked down the Grateful Dead house at 710 Ashbury Street, shopped, and walked around Alamo Square where we took in the Painted Ladies, i.e. a city block of beautiful pastel-colored Victorian houses.

Mark joined us in early afternoon. Tasha, a friend who left Boston about 10 years ago, has been living in SF for the last 7 years. She picked us up in town, and drove us to o Muir Beach for a hike around Green Gulch Farm Zen Center which took about 2 hours. Driving over the Golden Gate Bridge was a real treat. So dramatic, so beautiful. We met her husband Sean and our mutual friend Timothy for dinner at an upscale restaurant on the waterfront with a fantastic view of the Bay Bridge.

I am so impressed with Kelsey. She is loving every minute of this trip. I am so happy to have the opportunity to introduce her to such a cool place and interesting people. She is really holding her own and is quite sophisticated for her young age. She is very open-minded and enthusiastic about whatever we are doing. What an absolute pleasure.
