Chartier

Funny, it was easier to blog from India than Paris! Although the hotel has a wi-fi, service in our room is spotty at best. Now with the additional complication of the French keyboard, I am even more challenged.

This morning we attended a catholic mass church called Trinite. We have sat across from it several times at the cafe, but thought it was inactive because it looks so rundown from the outside. On a hunch we approached it as the bells rang at 11am, and found ourselves attending a lovely full mass. I love those travel moments -- the things that happen when you aren't planning.

We successfully navigated the subway, changing trains 3 times to get to the Eiffel Tower. We took the lift to the second platform. The top platform was closed. We had considered walking up, but compromised by walking down. We then walked all the way back to the Lourve and up into our neighborhood.

How many nutella crepes and chocolate croissants have we REALLY eaten today? Let's just say "a lot". As many as we can find. That would definitely be a lot.

When I was here with Lynn in 2004, she took me to this fabulous simple restaurant called Chartier. I knew it was somewhere in this neighborhood, and was delighted to find it again. We tried escargots. Endive salad with roquefort. Roumelade celeraic. Salmon with new potatoes. We love one particular street, rue du Faubourg Montmarte.

Even Mark can't connect our personal computer, so images will have to wait for another time.
