Stained Glass Collaboration

Collaboration is in the air. After spending the day with Lynn and Lulu working on the War and Peace Project, I went over to see my friend Kande, her husband, 8 week old twins and her parents for the evening. Her father has been working in stained glass for over 30 years, and asked if I'd like to collaborate on a project. He likes my work and thought that it would be fun to do something together. We all had dinner together -- or as much as one can with infant twins needing to be fed, diapered, and held -- then her dad and I went to "work". We looked through images on my web site, and have settled on a few possible designs. People have said in the past that my work would lend itself well to adaptation into textile, but this is the first time someone has expressed interest in stained glass. Another creative partnership -- how fun!

Melissa, my studio mate, took this picture of Lynn, Lulu and I today. Melissa is a very gifted artist, and has become intrigued with the War and Peace project. We invited her to contribute a page and she accepted. We are now thinking that it might be fun to invite others to contribute as well. She teaches art and specializes in collage and drawing, so we are curious what she will come up with.

Lucy is in New Orleans so couldn't join us today, but she said that she has been wandering through funky secondhand stores and found lots of wonderful ephemera.
