Celebrating 30 Months

Here is a photo that Mark took last weekend at MassMOCA. I am standing in front of an installation by Katharina Grosse called " One Floor Up More Highly".

Luke and I will drive back to the city at noon. The party starts at 4pm.

It is quite a thing to ponder the significance of this celebration. Of course I am so lucky -- and it probably comes down to that, just plain dumb luck -- that I am still healthy while most metastatic breast cancer live just this long. The Vixen told me that research has shown that having a "good attitude" does not have any impact on living longer with cancer. So it really does just seem to be luck of the draw.

So I have been thinking since the last scan: how to spend the rest of my precious time. I haven't made any decisions yet. I have not applied for graduate school. Today I am enjoying having coffee cake with Luke for breakfast, prepping the canvas flags which will eventually fly in the woods out here, and anticipating another snow shoe with Luke and Sasha. That's my answer for my "life plans". Isn't that enough? Seems so to me.
