Reading Harry

I saw The Angels tonight. Luke, the 6 year old, is so cute with his missing front teeth. We call him "gum boy". Shayna is forging ahead with her reading skills. She told me that she just read the first Harry Potter book -- by herself! She is in 2nd grade. I was most impressed.

Today wasn't too interesting other than visiting with the kids tonight, and meeting Lucy for lunch. Lucy is one of those people: whatever you do together is fun. We often go to our favorite immigrant grocery store which carries the best produce in the whole city. She also dug some dahlias from her garden over the weekend that I will store in the basement until planting time next spring. They are deep red, the color of roses. I trust Lucy implicitly -- we have been friends for 25 years now. We have been together through it all. She is giving me the "green light" for the meditation retreat this weekend. I am looking forward to it.

Tomorrow is Mark's birthday. I am very eager to see what he has planned for us. We will devote the entire day to having fun together.
